Brough Methodist Church is located at the heart of the community of Brough and Elloughton, situated 10 miles west of Hull just off the A63.
Rev. Ann Rigby- Jones is the Superintendent Minister.
We are officially a Hybrid Church. Our none digital friends meet in the church and our digital friends meet on zoom. (due to social distancing, you must pre-book a seat before attending on a Sunday) Our ministers and preachers have the choice of attending in person or joining on Zoom.
During the current pandemic, the church community continued to meet on Sundays at 10.30am via Zoom and are joined by friends from all over the country and circuit and this has evolved into a cohesive community of friends. The services are friendly and combine contemporary and traditional elements.
The service concludes with coffee and chat which everyone has found valuable in this time when we are unable to meet face to face. All are welcome.
A bible study group “Pancake” (It started off as a Lent Group and evolved) meets on a Tuesday evening from 7pm – 8.30pm and this is held on Zoom. Everyone is welcome. We are currently studying a bible study series based on Marks Gospel and Gogglebox.
On Wednesday Mornings at 10am there is a coffee morning on Zoom to which everyone is welcome. It is just a time to chat with others and provides a vital role.
Brough Methodist reaches out into the community.
Karen is the Community and outreach worker and her role involves working in the church and the surrounding community, running a daily singing time at 10am and a story time at 2pm on our online toddler group, Let’s Play at Home. This has been used by hundreds of families during lock down. Karen is also providing assemblies for local schools and support for lots of families.
