Rev. Margaret Asiedu
I was born in the village of North Somercotes near the market town of Louth. Sunday Mornings were swimming mornings, my dad’s cousin picking me up at around 8pm and dropped me off home later in the morning.
Things changed when a new vicar was appointed at the local Parish church. He visited us and asked my two older sisters to join his ‘Folk Group’ known to us today as a ‘Worship Band’. Things changed and although I still went swimming, I got dropped off at church. I eventually was confirmed and took part in church activities.
However, the Methodist church then got a new Minister who started a youth group which was very attractive so I migrated! I was soon very involved in church life their, bible study groups, Sunday school teacher, then youth club leader, as well as ‘Miss Personality’ for Lincoln and Grimsby district at some point along the way!
I pursued a call to local preaching while working as a lay worker at Louth Methodist church as a result of attending the East Midland ministry training course. I then went on to explore a call to the Presbyteral ministry and found myself back on the East Midlands ministry training course but this time the church paid!.
My first appointment was in the Grimsby and Cleethorpes circuit. I then made the journey over the Humber to be Minister of Cottingham, Skidby and Tower Hill and I am enjoying my time here.
