Rev. Andrew Stead
I was born in Mirfield which is in God’s own County of West Yorkshire and was raised on a tough estate in Dewsbury. I am a Leeds United fan for my sins! I became a Christian in my mid teens at the local Methodist Church and my passion for Jesus has never left since that life changing day! A couple of years after marrying my long suffering wife Anne we both went to study at Cliff College. It was there that my heart for Mission and especially Evangelism started.
Prior to entering the Ministry I worked as a sales engineer which gave me lots of experience of life outside the Church. I trained for the ministry at the Wesley Study Centre in Durham where my passion for Mission and Evangelism was confirmed and encouraged.
My first appointment took me to the Batley Circuit followed by an appointment in the Wakefield Circuit, both in West Yorkshire. I was then sent on my first overseas mission, coming to Hull in 2013. Myself and Anne are blessed with two amazing children, Joel who is teaching in Wakefield and Hannah who is studying at Newcastle University. It is a real joy and privilege to be in a Mission & Evangelism focused circuit and I am loving my time in Hull.
